Jaqueline Lopez along with her sons, David and Deivis Gonzalez, opened the newest spot for man’s best friend in Miami Lakes: Doghouse Miami. The dog care, boarding and training facility opened on August 3 at 15512 N.W. 77 Court with Mayor Manny Cid and Councilmembers Luis Collazo and Marilyn Ruano to help cut the ribbon at the Royal Oaks Plaza location.

The owners settled on Miami Lakes for the opening of their first location for Doghouse Miami to fill the need they saw for a dog day care and boarding facility.

Doghouse Miami is a full-service 1800 sq. ft dog spot that offers doggy daycare, merchandise, grooming, training and boarding. Though there are many kennels, the majority of the time is spent in the main playground. The five-member staff all have grooming and training certifications and the facility has a separate area to house aggressive dogs or small dogs that may be too small to share the same area with larger dogs. There is no weight or breed restrictions though all dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations and all dogs over 7 months must be spayed or neutered.

In addition to day care and boarding, Doghouse Miami offers obedience training and even transport for dogs whose owners cannot attend. Owners are responsible for bringing food and treats. Emergencies are handled with the help of the animal hospital next door, Miami Lakes Veterinary Clinic.

Prices and more information on training, boarding and grooming are online at www.doghousemiami.com or by calling 786-536-6322.
