A luncheon and resources event for honorably discharged veterans and their families will be held at the United States Coast Guard Air Station Miami.
On Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., veterans and their loved ones are invited to the Opa-Locka base to enjoy a free meal.
Companies will be on hand to offer veterans venefits; there will be outreach programs and job opportunties for veterans and their spouses.
Information about local, state and federal programs will be provided.
The day is a chance to network, get American Legion support information and to recgonize the Miami Veterans Administration Healthcare System and staff.
Veterans are encouraged to wear headgear related to their branch of service.
The Coast Guard Exchange will hold raffles every hour.
There will also be a food drive.
Veterans must bring paperwork to validate their status, e.g., DD-214; VA ID; retirement ID; military ID or the veteran designation on a Florida driver’s license.
