Students win math, computer science awards

At the Florida Gulf Coast University 16th Annual
Invitational Mathematics Competition on Dec. 16, two high school students from Mater Lakes Academy placed 15th against a field of 40 schools. There were 150 competitors in each category. Ninth grader Brigitte Torres placed 15th in Algebra 1, and 10th grader Helen Ho also placed 15th, in Geometry, the school said.
